Black Angel: A Novel of Forbidden Love
By George M. Baucum
Love, War and Segregation
Raised by a loving mother and stepfather, Fletcher Davis knows of hard times. He enlists in the U.S. Army and is sent to England and then to France when World War II breaks out.
His small black unit maintains a supply depot in a French village, where he falls in love with a white French girl. He knows they can never be married. America is still segregated. But they are very much in love.
Black Angel is the story of forbidden love, at a time when interracial relationships were condemned by both whites and blacks. But can love conquer all?
